Dedicated to lifelong learning and patient-centered care, Dr. Kim is committed to helping patients achieve and maintain their best possible vision and eye health.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of British Columbia before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. Dr. Chan graduated with distinction and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

During her clinical training, Dr. Chan developed a strong foundation in medical optometry through externships at Gouverneur Hospital in New York and the Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Delaware. These rotations emphasized the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, retinal disease, neuro-ophthalmic conditions, and systemic diseases with ocular manifestations.

While Dr. Chan enjoys caring for patients of all ages, she has a particular interest in specialty contact lenses and myopia control. During her training at the University Optometric Center in New York, she gained valuable experience in the Myopia Control Clinic, where she provided care aimed at slowing the progression of myopia in children through orthokeratology (Ortho-K), multifocal contact lenses, and atropine therapy. She remains passionate about helping children and their families explore evidence-based strategies to reduce the risk of developing high myopia.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Chan enjoys exploring Vancouver’s diverse food scene and discovering new restaurants.
