Dr. Harleen Takhar
Dr. Harleen Takhar knew from a young age that she wanted to a pursue a career in optometry having had eye surgery as a child herself. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Science at Simon Fraser University, Dr. Takhar went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry with honours in 2010. She continues to further her knowledge by striving to stay up to date on the latest advancements in eye care. Dr. Takhar is committed to providing comprehensive and personalized eye care to patients of all ages. With a strong clinical interest in the management of dry eye disease, myopia control, and specialty contact lenses, Dr. Takhar combines evidence-based approaches and the latest technology with patient-focused care to improve both vision and quality of life. Whether managing complex dry eye cases or developing tailored myopia control strategies, Dr. Takhar strives to offer compassionate care and a commitment to long-term ocular health. When not in the clinic, Dr. Takhar enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and reading.
Dr. Harbir Sian
Dr. Sian was born in London, England and raised in Vancouver. Harbir studied Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University and then moved to Boston to complete his optometry degree the New England College of Optometry . Since graduating from NECO in 2010, Dr. Sian has had a passion for education and for giving back to those in need. His passion for education led him start his own written blog, a YouTube channel, and even a podcast. Throughout his career, Harbir has participated in various volunteer clinic locally and globally, including clinics in South America and in the Middle East. In clinic, Dr. Sian can usually be spotted making dad jokes that make patients and staff roll their eyes. He is happy to see patients of all ages, however, he is particularly passionate about myopia management and specialty contact lenses (including scleral lenses for patients with keratoconus and Ortho-k lenses for nearsighted patients). Dr. Sian has been invited to lecture at many well-known eye care conferences around North America and he has even given TEDx Talk titled “Our Eyes Are the Windows to Our Soul”. Dr. Sian was named he BC Doctors of Optometry Young Optometrist of the Year in 2016 and one of Eyecare Business Magazine’s Game Changers in 2022.
Dr. Puja Bassi
Dr. Bassi was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. She completed her undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University before pursuing her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Optometry at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. During her time abroad, Dr. Bassi gained valuable experience working in both private practice and at St. Thomas’ Hospital, one of London’s largest and most renowned teaching hospitals. She later returned to Canada to continue providing comprehensive eye care to her community. Dr. Bassi has a special interest in myopia control, dry eye management, ocular disease, and co-management of laser refractive surgery. She is passionate about delivering personalized care and staying current with advancements in eye health. Outside the clinic, Dr. Bassi enjoys traveling, reading and spending quality time with family and friends. She looks forward to being part of your healthcare team and serving as your trusted eye doctor.
