Dr. Amanda Weinerman
Dr. Amanda Weinerman is an experienced optometrist with a broad clinical and academic background. She completed hospital-based training at Manchester Eye Hospital in the UK and earned her M.Sc. in Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1995. Earlier in her career, she served as a clinical supervisor at the University of Waterloo across several areas of optometry, including pediatrics, contact lenses, binocular vision, ocular health, and low vision. She has also contributed published research in ophthalmic optics, including work on visual perception and contact lens-related corneal swelling in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes. Her clinical experience includes work with Grenfell Eye Hospital in Newfoundland, ownership of Cadboro Bay Optometry Clinic beginning in 2006, and diabetic eye clinics serving North Island and Campbell River, BC. Overall, Dr. Weinerman’s background reflects deep experience in primary eye care, contact lenses, ocular health, low vision, and diabetes-related eye care.
